Highlights from Rome Reflecting on a Key Past Activity

On April,the historic neighborhood of Testaccio in Rome hosted an engaging and forward-looking  meeting focused on the transition toward a Positive Energy District (PED). The event was hosted by project partner Università Roma Tre and brought together researchers, local authorities, professionals, and community representatives to explore sustainable solutions and collaborative approaches to urban energy transformation.

From Vision to Practice: The Positive Energy District in Testaccio

The meeting centered on the POSEIDON project, which aims to support the development of tools and strategies for the energy transition of urban neighborhoods. Testaccio was presented as a living laboratory, where innovative methods can be tested and adapted to real-world social, environmental, and energy conditions.

A key contribution came from Giulia Turci of the Municipality of Cesena, who shared valuable insights and lessons learned from the Cesena case study. This exchange of experiences highlighted practical pathways and challenges in implementing Positive Energy Districts in different urban contexts.

The event strongly emphasized collaboration among stakeholders. The Municipality of Rome was actively represented, including Danila Severa, who contributed to discussions on local policies and urban sustainability strategies.
