Urban
Labs
Transformation of space needs civic initiative and the involvement of local actors.
That’s why POSEIDON will be implementing its POSEIDON Labs concept.
Each demo site will be accompanied by a unique living lab that will promote sustainable habits and an understanding of sustainability concepts through activities, film screenings, discussions and games.
We will be striving to integrate social acceptance, activation and participation with governance and application.
On the one hand, a continuous exchange will be established with local authorities and relevant stakeholders all along the project in order to correctly integrate their needs and visions, on the other hand, inhabitants will be actively involved, by means of participative and digital strategies.

Call for
films
As part of the Living Labs program, POSEIDON will be screening documentary films that raise awareness on sustainable energy production and reduced consumption, and more importantly, showcase inspiring examples of how communities can work towards change and sustainability.
Access our call here, and distribute it in your networks to help us reach filmmakers with films that can help raise public awareness.
people
centered
POSEIDON aims to promotes a model of PED that will not only be socially innovative but also affordable and inclusive.
In that sense, the methodology will give a special care to include the most vulnerable population – in the selection of action measures, governance scheme and business model. In particular as summer energy poverty is a current problem in the Mediterranean cities, POSEIDON will consider solutions that contribute to mitigate heat waves and urban heat island effects both inside buildings and public space.
Indeed, through people-centred and co-creation strategies, the project will involve all relevant stakeholders and include diversity in term of origin, social class and gender. Finally, by facilitating the implementation of PEDs within Mediterranean cities, POSEIDON will contribute to the urban transition towards climate-neutrality, resilience and sustainability.
